A creative mind with over 17 years of restaurant experience, Raf is the genius behind the food. He’s also a top-shelf mixologist, pouring his expertise into our inventive cocktail menu. But it’s his loves outside the kitchen that make this place truly special…

As an artist and avid music lover, Raf wears his heart on his sleeve, seeking beauty and imagination in all his endeavors. Memento SF is the culmination of this journey, a manifestation of a lifetime of passions.

Opening his own place has always been Raf’s ambition. But it took a bi-costal love story (and global shutdown) to bring it to fruition.

Raf met Suhair while working at a restaurant in New York City. When the pandemic hit, Raf had the opportunity to take a break from hospitality altogether, only to realize how much he missed it. He decided to come shelter with Suhair in the Bay Area, packing for what he thought would be a short trip…

Four years later, the two are happily married and opening their dream spot in Noe Valley!

The name Memento SF comes from the imperative form of meminisse, a Latin verb that means "to remember.” Our hope is to be a dining experience guests will never forget–a destination rather than just a place to eat.

We aim to provide a casual yet elegant atmosphere for those who appreciate delicious food. A favorite hangout spot for the neighborhood, and home away for visitors–somewhere everyone feels like a regular!
